Ali B.’s Leipe Mocro Flavour available in the supermarket

AliB-Favorflav

Ali B. is temporarily becoming Ali V., because the rapper is absolutely crazy about vegetarian food and meat substitutes. So crazy, in fact, that his Leipe Mocro Flavour is now available in the supermarket, in the form of seasoned vegetarian chicken pieces. In the accompanying music video, Ali raps about ‘Dancing chickens, escaping the dance’.

Television programmes such as The Voice and X-factor, theatre, online as an influencer: Ali B. is pretty much everywhere. And now he’s in the refrigerated aisle too, because he teamed up with LikeMeat to create vegetarian chicken pieces with Moroccan spices, which are now available in the supermarket. The label bears the name of Ali’s first hit, ‘Leipe Mocro Flavour’.

Planet

Ali is convinced that eating vegetarian is good for yourself and the planet, he says. Last January, he sat down with one hundred Dutch families to talk about plant-based food. Virtually, of course, because well, coronavirus, and all the families prepared something tasty to eat themselves, so Ali didn’t have to cook vegetarian food for all those people. Ali B. had previously told the press that he sees himself as a flexitarian and would like to eat entirely vegetarian.

Replacing lamb

Together with LikeMeat, a German company that makes plant-based meat substitutes, he then developed the Leipe Mocro Flavour, a meat substitute with which he wants to let everyone taste how delicious vegetarian food can be. To give the new chicken pieces a little vocal encouragement, he also re-released his hit, but with new lyrics. In it, Ali raps about ‘Dancing chickens escaping the dance’ and ‘Lambs in the meadow, all so happy, because that lamb thinks: yes, they’re replacing me too.’
