The ten finalists of the professional competition, the Spareribs Trophy, have been announced. This competition is awarded every year by the Koninklijke Nederlandse Slagers (KNS). In this edition, more than 80 butchers submitted their spareribs. It was the task of the expert jury to assess all the products. Toothpicks ready, let the judging begin!
The finalists’ spareribs are artisanally made with care and passion. Every finalist has their own spareribs-secret. The expert jury assessed the spareribs on aroma, taste, composition and preparation: “These are truly beautiful products that customers will definitely come back for. All the finalist spareribs have a delicious meaty flavor, a tender bite and well-balanced seasoning,” the jury said.

Announcement of the winner
The Spareribs Trophy is one of the professional competitions organized by KNS. This year’s award ceremony will take place on April 6. Together with the finalists, the winner of the Spareribs Trophy will be announced during the ceremony. The KNS is also organizing the competition for the Tastiest Meatball this year.
