Best news of the day: McDonald’s is launching a Happy Meal for adults
Today is my lucky daaaaay. Because I have yet another perfectly good excuse to go to Maccie, and that always makes me very happy. The Golden Arches remain one of my guilty pleasures.
Side note: people who can genuinely say they ‘don’t like McDonald’s’, how? I don’t understand how you can say that about all the products anyway – because there really is something for everyone, but I also don’t get it because it’s just genuinely delicious.
My standard order is a Big Mac with fries (not a meal, because that post-mix soda does make me rather sad), but whenever I go with my lovely colleague Ella, I already know her order too: a Happy Meal. And of course, every time we eagerly look forward to the toy that comes with it, even though it usually isn’t much and is not exactly meant for our age group.

But that’s about to change. Hooray: McDonald’s is launching a Happy Meal for adults. HOW FUN. It consists of the following: ten Chicken McNuggets or a Big Mac (an easy choice for me), large fries, and a drink of your choice. And of course… A toy. Loohooof it. So basically, it’s just a large value meal with a real treat thrown in. I think it’s fantastic.
Well, there is one downside. A downside the size of the Atlantic Ocean: for now, these Happy Meals for adults are only available in the United States. That’s a real shame. Hey, Dutch McDonald’s, are you reading this? We want this in the Netherlands too. NOW.
