Best sausage rolls in Brabant at Appie

If you live in the Randstad and claim in the presence of someone from Brabant that you’ve found a good sausage roll somewhere nearby, you’ll inevitably get an earful. Bakers all over the country can try their very best, but you’ll find a truly good sausage roll only in Brabant. That’s about to change this week.

You no longer have to drive to Houben Worstenbrood in Eindhoven for the best rolls in the country. The famous baker’s rolls will simply be available at Albert Heijn from this week, as Houben reported this morning on its Facebook page.

Here at the editorial office, we can hardly believe it: the best sausage rolls in the country, simply at the supermarket around the corner? What have we done to deserve this? Brabant natives living elsewhere who used to make a special stop at the bakery on a weekend trip home to score their favorite rolls? No longer necessary.

The rolls will be available from Tuesday, February 5, at AH stores in Eindhoven, Tilburg and the surrounding area. The exact stores are still to be announced, but if all goes well, they’ll all participate, with the rest of the Netherlands to follow later.
