We love pesto, although we prefer the green variety to the red Calabrese version. We do prefer to make that ourselves. That also prevents it from containing ingredients that don’t belong in it. And with the simple yet surprising pasta pesto recipe from famous chef Massimo Bottura, it really can’t go wrong.

Bertolli Pesto Calabrese

Back to Albert Heijn, both figuratively and literally, if you bought that jar of Bertolli Pesto Calabrese (185 grams). The sauce made with peppers, Italian cheeses and olive oil is being removed from stores as a precaution because the product may contain the mustard allergen. This concerns products with an expiration date of 02/2024.

If you have a mustard allergy, you can return the jar to the store where it was purchased. Please note that the sauce is also sold at Jumbo, Plus and Coop.

Tip: craving pesto like crazy? Then make Pesto eggs; they’re a huge hit on TikTok, and with this recipe you’ll have them ready in no time!
