Beware: Albert Heijn warns about sushi
Albert Heijn has issued an important safety warning and is immediately removing AH Hosomaki sushi from its stores. This concerns AH Hosomaki sushi with a best-before date of 07-04-2023. What’s going on?
Albert Heijn is recalling the product because the sushi may contain sesame, which is not mentioned on the packaging. Not great for people with a sesame allergy (in the meantime, I’m wondering whether you’d want to eat this sushi at all, because the strength of sushi is that it’s absolutely fresh and made with the best products—I haven’t come across genuinely tasty supermarket sushi in the Netherlands yet.)

In any case, if you have a sesame allergy, return your purchase to an Albert Heijn store. The purchase amount will be refunded upon return. No sesame allergy? Then you can safely eat the sushi.
