Brewery de Eeuwige Jeugd’s own taproom

Calling all beer lovers: Brewery de Eeuwige Jeugd, you know, the brewery behind specialty beers Lellebel and Nitwit, which are on almost every beer menu, is opening its own taproom on November 1.

After spreading their name across the country for 2.5 years, it’s now time for their own place, in Amsterdam-Oost. And that means 020 has gained another buzzing brewery.

Bokkelul Bullebak

The three Amsterdammers Almer, Thomas and Jules can brew beer like no other, and you can taste it. The seven different beers on tap each literally and figuratively have their own character. Our favorites are the Bokkelul bock beer (with a light caramel flavor and a slight bitterness) and the Bullebak blond (sweetish with a hint of banana). Alongside their own brews, the menu also features plenty of other bottled specialty beers. All come from fellow brewers in our country, as a way of showing their appreciation for our existing beer culture. Now that’s what we call collegial.

When beer meets cocktails

Earlier, of course, we told you about the comeback of Hoptails (yes, beer plus cocktails). You can also come here for the best-of-both-worlds drink. The Lapzwans, Jonge God or Mokumse Meid: they’re all surprisingly delicious beer cocktails.

Shitloaded fries

What do you drink with a Bullebak? We went for the vegan shitloaded fries, with pulled jackfruit and chipotle. Mexican-style fries are at least just as delicious.

Magic potion

Brewery de Eeuwige Jeugd wants to encourage its beer drinkers to let their inner child out every now and then. As the men themselves say, their beers aren’t magic potions, but even the greatest superhero sometimes needs a helping hand. We can always grow old later, after all. We couldn’t agree more.
