Bubbly breweries in 030

Beer brings joy, as one of our life mottos goes. And with beers from the following Utrecht breweries, you’re guaranteed to hit the mark.

Maximus
Maximus Brewery was founded by a young and ambitious team. Their daily goal is to make beer that is easy to drink, yet remains surprising with every sip. In summer, it is definitely worth visiting the brewery in Utrecht. With a west-facing terrace and an apple orchard as a view, you’re guaranteed to enjoy yourself. Our favorite Maximus beer has to be and remains Pandora 6, a Dutch Pale Ale. Also good to know: Brutus was recently voted the most highly regarded beer in the province.

vandeStreek
Beer brothers Ronald and Sander van de Streek started brewing in Sander’s apartment in 2010. The men began brewing without commercial objectives and with enjoyment as their motivation, but by now they can proudly say that they are building a beer empire. Their bold, full-bodied beers have become indispensable in the hospitality industry, and vandeStreek can also be found at many beer festivals as standard.

Oudaen
If you walk along the Oudegracht, Stadskasteel Oudaen is impossible to miss. The enormous building is one of Utrecht’s oldest. In addition to serving fantastic food all day in its monumental grand café, Oudaen also has a wharf cellar. Around 75,000 liters of beer are brewed annually in that wharf cellar. All the beers brewed here are named after the former families who lived in the castle. Definitely worth visiting soon.
De Leckere
De Leckere was founded in 1997 by a group of friends who place great value on organic farming and food. And that is also De Leckere’s guiding principle: 100 percent organically brewed beer. With 15 signature beers and six beers created to celebrate the brewery’s 15th anniversary, De Leckere has become an indispensable part of Utrecht’s beer scene. We actually wrote about the brewery before; at Werkspoor Café De Leckere, you can sample all their beers, as it has been serving them since last November.
