Burger King launches pink Barbie cheeseburger and Ken fries

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know that the Barbie movie is coming. It premieres in the Netherlands next Tuesday, and I can honestly tell you that I’m really looking forward to it. In America, the premiere has already taken place, and I haven’t read a single bad review yet. People have laughed, people have cried, and some people even think Ryan Gosling should receive an Oscar nomination for his role as Ken. Wouldn’t that be something?

But nomination or not, Barbie is truly a phenomenon. So it’s not all that strange that many brands are also diving into the pink Barbie theme, but whether that’s such a good idea for everyone…
The new Barbie menu at Burger King
Burger King (in Brazil — unfortunately not in the Netherlands) has launched a bright pink menu, and I have quite a few questions about the cheeseburger in particular. The menu also includes a pink Barbie doughnut milkshake, which sounds delicious but is very intense, Ken fries (which, honestly, just look like regular fries), and, of course, a pink cheeseburger.
This burger is topped with a bright pink sauce that is supposedly slightly smoky, bacon pieces, and a slice of cheese. It doesn’t look all that great, but I would definitely dare to try it. Anything is better than their recent creation of a cheeseburger with nothing but cheese and no meat…
Unfortunately, this menu is only available in Brazil, which is a bit disappointing. If anyone from Burger King is reading this, could you make sure we get another fun promotion in the Netherlands sometime soon? Bring on that pink sauce, I say.
