It’s Valentine’s Day today, and of course you haven’t missed it. Because literally every retailer is jumping on the bandwagon. One Valentine’s promotion is even more playful than the next. But as far as I’m concerned, snack bar De Ring in the South Holland village of Zuidland is taking the top prize. Because if you can turn a snack box into something erotic: nothing but praise.
Snack bar De Ring, which has not quite been renamed Snack bar De Cockring for the occasion, has created an adult version of the smulbox especially for today. The 18+ Box comes not only with snacks, but also with an erotic toy.
Heart-shaped frikandellen
Owners Ferry and Annemiek readily admit: “Eating at a snack bar with your loved one on Valentine’s Day may not be the first thing that comes to mind.” Nevertheless, the heart-shaped frikandellen sell very well every year around Valentine’s Day,” Ferry Brinkman said in the local media. Inspired by the kids’ boxes, the couple came up with a playful idea: “Why don’t we make a box for adults that you can share with your partner? Fries, snacks, a bottle of prosecco and, as the finishing touch: a toy for adults.”

Thinking: ‘Yes, I want one!”; the special 18+ Box for Valentine’s Day is available for pickup (today only) from 12:00 at Snack bar De Ring (Ring 23, Zuidland).
