Delightfully retro: these old-fashioned packages are much prettier (and a little creepy)

Every so often, packaging is renewed, improved, or changed. Why, exactly? When you look at the old-fashioned packaging of these breakfast cereals, crisps, and sweets, you can see that not every change is an improvement.

Not everything from the past is prettier. Those horrible party snacks from the seventies come to mind, with cocktail sausages and hard-boiled eggs. And what about those awful drinks from the eighties, like acid-drop-coloured Breezers and Blue Curaçao, which you drank before going out? No, absolutely no one longs to have those back.

Terrifying clown

But advertising agencies could certainly bring the nostalgic packaging of these cornflakes back into the spotlight. Can we have that innocent rooster, that cheerful leopard, and that colourful toucan back? Only the original McDonald’s clown is better left where he was—in the distant past. Keep it that way, because he is terrifying!
