Dirty containers? This TikTok hack gets them clean in no time

Anyone who thought TikTok was only good for silly dances is mistaken. The social platform is actually home to a treasure trove of bizarre, nonsensical and incredibly useful kitchen hacks. Every day, something new comes along. Today: cleaning plastic storage containers in a (literal) snap of the fingers.

You know the feeling: you’ve responsibly made some extra food and put it in a Tupperware container for the next day (or simply for half an hour later, because: cravings), only to be left with a container full of dirty, greasy stains after emptying it. You can scrub with your dish brush until the cows come home, run them through the dishwasher thirty times, but those discolouration and grease stains just won’t come out.
Paper here
TikToker Adi Kempler has the solution. Her secret? Pieces of torn kitchen paper. Huh? What? Yes, really. All you have to do is put a little dish soap in the container, fill it halfway with warm water and add a few pieces of torn kitchen paper. Put the lid on and shake as if your life depended on it. For about 45 to 60 seconds. An instant arm workout. Remove the lid, pour away the soapy water, rinse the containers and voilà: the container looks as good as new.
No idea how it works, but it works, and that’s what matters. Want to try it yourself? Check out Adi’s video to see how she does it:
