Do not buy: these Jumbo Pennywafels are being recalled from stores
Supermarket chain Jumbo has issued an important food warning for its private-label Pennywafels. Jumbo Pennywafels may contain the Salmonella bacterium.
The list of obscure ingredients is endless, and there is certainly no real chocolate in them. But still: a taste of childhood nostalgia with every bite, and all for just 89 cents.

Salmonella, a rather irritating disease-causing bacterium, can occur in various food products. Most people have heard of salmonella in connection with raw meat and eggs, but salmonella contamination can also occur in products where you would not immediately expect it, such as chocolate—as happened last year with the well-known Kinder Surprise egg.
Salmonella in Jumbo Pennywafels
The Salmonella bacterium may now also be present in the humble Jumbo Pennywafel. Jumbo is therefore immediately recalling Jumbo Pennywafels with a best-before date of 01-06-2024.
