First coffeeshop drive-thru opens in the Netherlands
Forget the drive-thru at Maccie, there’s a new kid in town and it’s actually typically Dutch. I don’t expect other countries to follow suit anytime soon: a coffeeshop drive-thru. I do find the location rather striking, though. Not Amsterdam, not Rotterdam… No, this brand-new drive-thru is in Hellevoetsluis.
And it’s now open for business: John & Co. is the place to score your cannabis from your car from early morning (10 a.m.) until late at night (also 10 p.m.).
How the coffeeshop drive-thru works
First of all, an employee will check your age, so be sure to bring an ID, and if there are several people in the car, I’d recommend that everyone has their ID with them. If you’re old enough (always handy), you can drive on to the first large sign. This lists all the menu options: the different types of weed and hash, prices and quantities.
Then, once you’ve made your choice, you drive on to the intercom where you can place your order. You then drive on and pay at the first window, and receive your order at the second window. Did I just explain how a drive-thru works? Yep; John & Co. works exactly like the McDrive, really, only with slightly different products… And a mandatory minimum age.
If you’re stopping by John & Co., be prepared for some queues: it’s a resounding success.
