For All Hotheads and Whisky Fans: This Is Your Sauce

Whisky Hot Sauce

Hot news! Amsterdam entrepreneurs from The Stillery and Cityguys have come up with a very spicy new product: their own Operation Hot Sauce. This spicy red sauce is made from locally grown Dutch hot peppers. And that’s not all, because the guys are also launching their own (spicy!) whisky.

Operation Hot Sauce is made with Dutch Reaper peppers, Madam Jeanette peppers and fresh Dutch strawberries for a touch of fruitiness. Dutch Reaper and Madam Jeanette are among the hottest peppers in the world, recognizable by their bulbous shape. For the spicy sauce, the peppers and other ingredients are fermented in The Stillery’s whisky barrels, ultimately creating a distinctive and unique flavor.

Sauce for Hotheads and Whisky Fans

On the famous Scoville scale, this sauce scores 92,000—almost 100 times hotter than Sriracha. So if you can handle the series of uncomfortable symptoms—both at the time and the day after—this really is a sauce for you. But that’s not all. Once the hot sauce is removed from the barrels, they are filled with whisky again. The result? A hot, catchy and unexpected whisky. “As if the Spice Girls had suddenly released a new album,” according to the Cityguys.

Whisky Hot Shot is perfect as a base for a whisky cocktail (or with ice, because there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that).

Do you dare to try them?

Both hotties are available in The Stillery webshop: Operation Hot Sauce costs €9.95, while a bottle of Whisky Hot Shot costs €19.95. The Hot Sauce and Whisky Hot Shot are also available together in a special Spice & Spirit combo deal for €24.95.
