Heel Holland Bakt is looking for contestants; who knows, you might be there soon!
Choux buns, flans, underbaked cakes and croquembouches: the whole of Holland can’t get enough of them. Thousands of people across the country bake up a storm every week, generally safely out of sight of television cameras. But that could change now, because Heel Holland Bakt is looking for contestants for the new season!
For eight seasons now, we’ve been able to enjoy absolute hits and sympathise with shattered dreams in the form of collapsed (or simply dropped-on-the-floor) creations… The presenters (and judges) are top-notch, the contestants are often very well-behaved, and we’d love to attack that table where everything is constantly displayed. And if you’re now thinking, ‘I need to be part of that’, sign up!
A warehouse full of sugar
Of course, you won’t make it through the selection with a photo of your burnt shortbread cookies, or an ugly horror cake bearing the words ‘Find the toenail’ (it exists!). But if you know your way around all kinds of dough, meringue and KILOS of sugar, and also have a little confidence, taking part might just be a dream that can come true.
