Horror on a plate: everyone is terrified of the Cthulhu

Chtulhu-Favorflav

Desperate times call for desperate measures. But is the situation really so desperate that you want to make a turkey stuffed with octopus, on a bed of crab legs? Apparently so, because this Cthulhu turkey is slowly taking over the internet – and it’s genuinely creepy.

The dish is inspired by the mythical creature Cthulhu, invented by cult writer H.P. Lovecraft. In the 1930s, he wrote horror books featuring these kinds of nightmare-like animals. If you find your kitchen inspiration in this literature, perhaps we shouldn’t be surprised by the result. Because it is: a turkey, stuffed with an octopus, with little eyes of some sort, served on a bed of crab legs. Notably, no one writes anything about the taste of the Cthulhu. Apparently, it’s more about the shock factor when you dare to put such a monster on the party buffet.
