Huh? Since when does McDonald’s sell birthday cakes?
Well, would you look at that, they officially have absolutely everything I want at McDonald’s now. Well, at McDonald’s in America, that is… Because unfortunately, this item isn’t (yet?) available here. But in the United States, it’s also still kind of a secret menu item, because even the employees at Maccie’s had no idea what to do when it was ordered.
You have to fork out 29 dollars for it (and — I guess — be a little lucky that the location still has them), but then you do get something: a real McDonald’s birthday cake.
And no, this isn’t a joke
TikToker ‘that40yearguy‘ saw it pop up again in another TikToker’s video and didn’t believe it for a second. Cakes at McDonald’s? That had to be some kind of hoax again, right? He decided to put it to the test himself and went to the nearest McDonald’s to get a cake.
Once he arrived, the employee didn’t know what to do — apparently, those cakes are never ordered (probably because no one knows they exist) — but after asking the manager, he was allowed to drive on to the next window to pay 29 dollars… And wait for his cake.
And YES: it exists! A real McDonald’s birthday cake. It’s on my bucket list from now on, so the next time I’m in America, I’m obviously going to order one right away. Although there’s a good chance it will be a bit of a disappointment: according to that40yearguy, the cake is okay, but not 29-dollars-okay. By the way, everywhere online says they cost nine dollars, so maybe he was simply massively ripped off. But perhaps a Big Mac with a candle in it would be a better choice after all…
