McDonald’s fans share their best MacHacks
Lovely consistent quality, that’s what I like – and even if you’re not a fan of the Maccie, you can’t deny that they are at least consistent with their products. But there are ways to make that one Happy Meal even happier and other golden (arches) MacHacks. These are the six best tips from die-hard fans.
And honestly: these are genuinely useful hacks. During my next visit to the Golden Arches, I will definitely put them into practice.
1. Ask for fries without salt
This MacHack has two advantages: I find those fries absolutely ridiculously salty and, even though that is really delicious, sometimes I find it really, really too much. So that’s advantage number one. Advantage number two is that you’ll be guaranteed fresh fries, because they come straight from the fryer. Definitely do this when it isn’t too busy, because during rush hour the fryer is working overtime and you’re guaranteed fresh fries anyway.
2. No table available, or eating in the car?
Then use this handy MacHack. Maybe not the most practical thing in the car, but this way you can eat everything at once. So I would still go for it, honestly.
3. Broke? Here’s how to get a cheaper Big Mac
Buy two cheeseburgers and ask for Big Mac sauce on the side. Very honestly, I think people will look at you strangely and you’ll be known as a real cheapskate (the Mac isn’t exactly very expensive already), but you’ll have the last laugh because you’ll definitely have a cheaper Big Mac. I should mention that it will be missing the lettuce and pickles, but hey – those aren’t exactly the best parts of the Big Mac anyway.
4. In a hurry? Definitely use the McDrive
Lines at the McDrive are much more annoying than lines inside the restaurants, which is why these orders always get priority. Of course, you need a car for it (walking through the McDrive or going by bike is moderately appreciated), but it’s useful to know if you choose one of those motorway locations and need to get through quickly.
5. Ask for a fresh batch
Instead of making things more difficult by ordering your fries without salt, or, for example, a Big Mac without pickles (which is then fresh too because it has to be specially made), you can also simply ask if everything can be fresh. I don’t know whether this is an urban myth, but employees have said that they are required to do this when asked. Seems worth trying, I think.
6. Birthday? Go to the Mac the month after for free stuff
If you download the McDonald’s app and enter your birthday (or, for example, log in with your Facebook account), you’ll get discounts or free products in the month after your birthday. Just remember to bring your ID, but that’s a small effort for a free Big Mac, right? That app always has really great deals anyway.
Well, I don’t know what you’re going to do, but I’m heading to the Mac with appropriate urgency. CAN’T WAIT.
