Instant happy vibes with this tropical addition to your rum

Warm summer days are fantastic, and it’ll rain again soon enough, but nothing is stopping us from daydreaming non-stop about cheerful BBQ sessions and sunny drinks. And this ingredient is going to give the whole thing an extra summer boost!

Namely: ice cubes made from coconut water! Can you already hear them clinking as they swirl around in your glass? Make them quickly…
Incredibly versatile
Because we’ve already shared our love for coconut water before: you can cook and bake with it, and of course simply drink it straight from the coconut with a straw for the ultimate mood boost. But this tip, for adding a coconut touch to another drink, is also fantastic:
Summer in a cube
Simply freeze coconut water in a clean ice cube tray. I recently received two wonderfully fun molds for extra-large cubes: one with cubes and one with round spheres. Well, that’s a lot of fun – for the kids in particular, of course, but in a tumbler with whiskey or a cocktail, it somehow looks incredibly professional and chic too.
Easy does it
Then (if you’re into it) put those ice cubes in what must surely be the soul mate of coconut water: rum. Just a little, in a tumbler, preferably a lovely dark rum with soft vanilla notes. Take it out into the sun, sip it slowly, and as the cubes melt, the flavor blends with that rich rum taste – before you know it, you’ll imagine yourself on a tropical beach!
0% alcohol, 100% party
Prefer to skip the alcohol? Pour yourself a glass of pineapple juice, add the coconut water ice cubes, garnish with a lime wedge and voilà, your summer vibe is complete too… Enjoy!
