Is this the tastiest frikandel roll from the supermarket? Fat chance

Eke Bosman, better known as Instagram phenomenon @snackspert, ate his first frikandel as a baby, hates vlammetjes, has already devoured at least 1,500 burgers in his lifetime, suspects there is more mayonnaise in his body than blood, and shares his best and worst snack reviews on FavorFlav. This time, a glowing review of a frikandel roll from the supermarket.

Personally, I think Albert Heijn’s frikandel rolls (followed by the Kadir brand, which is available in various supermarkets) are the very best, but this morning (oops haha) I really did taste a genuine competitor. Over the past few years, I had no idea that Spar also made such excellent frikandel rolls. Wow! The meat is genuinely at the perfect temperature, and the sauce has set but is also soft, creating such a wonderfully saucy sensation in your mouth that even the most excitable people on earth will warm to it. A minor drawback is the pastry, which is a little too hard on the outside—you want to be welcomed into a frikandel roll with open arms, right? It has to come from both sides, come on now. But no, Spar really is excellent. They’re rising in my estimation. ⭐⭐⭐⭐½
