It has been researched: eating almonds helps reduce calorie intake

Are you still busy trying to stick to your resolutions to eat a little healthier and perhaps lose a kilo here and there? Then I have a great tip for you: eat almonds!

If there’s one thing that isn’t easy, it’s lowering your sugar intake or skipping that Friday afternoon drinks session. Did you know that January 13 is the day when most people abandon their resolutions? Worldwide, this day is called Quitters Day. Really. But not you!
Science proves it
A university in Australia researched the effect of eating almonds on our appetite. Scientists discovered that eating 30 to 50 grams of almonds, which is roughly a handful, ensures that people consume fewer calories.
Almonds: healthy nuts
And this is why. First, the nuts are packed with protein, fiber and unsaturated fats. This means they’re not only healthy, but also keep you feeling full for longer, so you eat less. In addition, almonds contain, among other things, the substance glucagon. Glucagon is a hormone produced in the pancreas, just like insulin. This substance sends signals to your brain that slow down digestion. That also means you eat less, and in the long term the number on the scales will go down.
So almonds are a particularly healthy, and above all useful, snack for anyone who wants to reduce their calorie intake. From now on, it’s a handful a day to keep the kilos away!
