Italian couple completely in shock over sky-high bill from club in Ibiza
You have expensive holidays, and then you have Ibiza-expensive holidays. An Italian influencer couple found that out this week. After a pleasant afternoon at a beach club on the Spanish island, they were presented with the bill. It left them completely stunned. ‘I paid more to be here for a few hours than I did for the flight to get to this island…’
Ibiza is bursting with great places. You can easily hop from a chilled beach club to a trendy spot. (Chef Sergio Herman is also a big fan: these are his favourite Ibiza hotspots.) The Italian couple Federica and Giuseppe decided to eat, drink and chill at Cala Bassa Beach Club, a club on Sant Josep beach. It proved to be an expensive decision.
Ibiza beach club insanely expensive
The bill was indeed quite high. The amount they were politely asked to pay? €400. Of that, €40 was for the sun loungers, €160 for a bottle of champagne and €200 for the food. The latter included, among other things, a large pan of seafood paella and a piece of Ibérico ham.
Think about it
The couple was completely in shock. This can’t be right, they thought. Their plane tickets to Ibiza had been cheaper! And yes, the price is obviously high. But then I think of a few things. First: check the prices before deciding to order somewhere. That way, you know (roughly) what you will eventually have to pay.
Second: a bottle of champagne at a popular beach club in Ibiza is simply expensive. That’s a bit of common sense, isn’t it? Especially as an influencer, you should know what things generally cost. And third: you’re in Ibiza. You could have booked a holiday to this incredibly cheap (but super beautiful!) destination instead.
Fourth: this may well be the worst part: by now, we’re used to Dutch hospitality prices and aren’t (as quickly) shocked by an amount like that.
Consider yourself warned
Going to Ibiza soon? One more warning: since 2024, there have been new, strict alcohol bans on the island. If you think it would be a better idea to drink cheaply beforehand, you should think twice.
