Jack Daniel’s launches new whiskey: Jack Daniel’s Bonded Rye

Jack Daniel’s, the best-known American whiskey, launched two Bottled In Bond whiskeys two years ago. And now a third variant has been added. After Jack Daniel’s Bonded and Jack Daniel’s Triple Mash, the whiskey makers from Tennessee are introducing Jack Daniel’s Bonded Rye. And great news for whiskey lovers: especially for Father’s Day, there’s an exclusive tasting, including matching bites, for €35. Here you can read where to sign up.

For anyone not yet familiar with the Bonded series: this is a premium line that honors the unique whiskey production of the Jack Daniel’s distillery. The bottles’ packaging is therefore inspired by the original design of the Jack Daniel’s Tennessee bottle from 1895.

Bottled In Bond
Bottled in Bond simply means that the whiskeys in question are made in accordance with the Bottled-In-Bond Act (from 1897). The production of these whiskeys is anything but simple, however. This series of whiskey regulations means that distillers must adhere to strict rules to improve the quality of the whiskey. For example, the whiskey must be distilled by one distiller, during one season, and then aged for at least four years in one of the official bonded warehouses.
Jack Daniel’s Bonded Rye
That all sounds good with Jack Daniel’s Bonded Rye. The newest addition to the Bonded series is made with a rich blend of 70% rye, 18% corn and 12% malted barley, aged in custom-made American oak whiskey barrels. Jack Daniel’s Bonded Rye contains notes of dried fruit and subtle hints of toffee, developing into a bold, complex and balanced flavor with a spicy rye finish. Sounds good, right?
Manhattan cocktail
Because of its powerful flavor and complexity, rye whiskey is a popular spirit among bartenders. You can really freestyle with it. From a modern cocktail to a classic Manhattan, Jack Daniel’s never gets boring. A Manhattan is also easy enough for the home shaker to make.
Here’s what you need: 60 ml Jack Daniel’s Bonded Rye, 30 ml sweet vermouth and 2 to 3 dashes of Angostura bitters. Fill a shaker with ice cubes. Add the three ingredients. Stir for 20 to 30 seconds. Strain the cocktail into a chilled martini glass. If you really want to do it like a pro, garnish with a Maraschino cherry.
Bonding with your dad
On Father’s Day—Sunday, June 16—Jack Daniel’s Bonded Rye will be available to taste in Dutch bars for the first time. Six cocktail bars in Amsterdam are creating a cocktail with the newest Jack Daniel’s Bonded Rye. You can go with your dad to Door74, Flying Dutchmen Cocktails, Lotti’s, Pulitzer’s Bar, Sins of Sal and Law & Order.
The latter cocktail bar takes an even deeper dive into the newest expression in the Bonded Series. Law & Order—which was named ‘Best New Cocktailbar’ in 2021—has created the ultimate Father’s Day experience: an exclusive tasting of the entire Bonded Series, including matching bites. And let’s be honest, having a deep conversation with your father is just a little easier with premium whiskey than with water, isn’t it?
