Listed-company meat substitute sandwich for sale

beyond meat subways

Eat fresh, hold the flesh! If Bill Gates and Leonardo DiCaprio invest in you and your boss takes you public, you must have something to say. The meat-free Beyond Burger certainly does, and everyone wants a piece of it. Subway included.

Peas, beets, coconut oil and potato starch form the basis of the veggie burger, which looks remarkably like a hamburger in color, texture and taste. As delicious as the real deal? Still not, according to the true meat lover. But it comes pretty close! The Beyond Burger, available at Appie, is a feast of a fake animal, with a tartare-like texture and smoky flavor. Uniquely among meat substitutes, the burgers contain no soy or gluten. Restaurant chains are therefore lining up at Beyond Meat, the company behind the Beyond Burger, to develop plant-based alternatives to meat dishes.

On to Manchester

Subway is no exception: the vegan Meatball Marinara Sub, made by Beyond Meat, is now finally (yes, it was eagerly anticipated!) available in England. For now, only in Manchester and Birmingham, but the intention is to roll it out nationwide in 2020. Hopefully the sandwich will cross the Channel afterward; I can’t wait to sink my teeth into it! Until then, I’ll happily make my own Beyond Burger sandwiches. Without that divine Subway sauce, admittedly.

Nominated

Given the enormous success of the Beyond Burger, no doubt the most hyped piece of ‘meat’ of the year, it can’t be any other way than that it has been nominated for the annual FavorFlav Food Top 100. The party of the year, all about one question: who are the major tastemakers of the moment in the world of food & drink? The winners will be announced on November 18, with the Beyond Burger among the contenders. Stay tuned!
