Do you remember? The huge success of Loetje Drive In during the coronavirus pandemic? Well, the people behind the famous steaks have come up with something new again: they are going to serve their unbeatable steaks on canal boats.

Loetje x Lovers

Loetje has entered into a partnership with shipping company Lovers. The meeting point is Restaurant Loetje at Stationsplein 10 at Amsterdam Central Station. Step aboard the Loetje by Lovers canal cruise and enjoy a Loetje steak while cruising through Amsterdam’s canals. Prefer something else to eat? That’s also possible; three different menu options are offered on this cruise: steak (cooked medium) with fries, salad & unlimited drinks; tuna steak (cooked medium) with fries, salad & unlimited drinks; or a vegetarian poké bowl.

Are you coming aboard?

Before the 75-minute trip begins, your meal will be served on the canal boat. Each boat can accommodate 30 guests. A tour including food costs (from) € 49.50 per person.

What’s that pool table doing there?

The story behind Loetje’s success is funny, by the way: when it was founded around 40 years ago, the idea was for Café Loetje to become a pool café. Then Ludwig ‘Loetje’ Klinkhamer made a fortunate mistake by putting his tenderloin steak on the menu. Before long, the place was packed with steak lovers wondering why that pool table was in the way.
