Man tattoos frikandel speciaal for a year of free snacks

Woooow, now that’s what you call dedication. And did you think you were a big fan of the frikandel speciaal? – think again. Jochen is a really big fan. This 40-year-old man from Bredene in Flanders never wants to be separated from his favorite snack again. And how do you carry it with you at all times? Exactly, as a tattoo. An added benefit is that he was able to pick up his favorite snack for free at snack bar ‘t Hoeksje for a whole year.

The owner, Kristof Declerck, came up with this promotion himself. Every customer who had a frikandel speciaal tattooed on their body received this snack for free for a year.
Taking part means winning
Strangely enough, this promotion didn’t exactly take off: there were only three applicants. The first one was ultimately not allowed to do it by his wife (lame), the second had an appointment at the tattoo shop but decided at the last minute not to go through with it after all (lame), and the third was Jochen. And he went for it. Or rather: he went for the frikandel.
He says: ‘I thought it was funny. Life is already so serious. For a while, I ran a hamburger restaurant in Ostend. I was known for my burgers with mealworms. I had a tattoo of that made too. So I’m interested in it, and everyone knows the frikandel.’
And what about Kristof? Next year, he’ll simply come up with a new promotion. ‘A paper cone of fries,’ he already predicts. So now you know what you have to do if you also want a year of free fries with satay sauce and mayonnaise.
