McDonald’s releases their weirdest burger ever

Is this a case of a lack of inspiration? Is it just one big joke? Or does Maccie really think we’ve been waiting for this? Now I understand that it can sometimes be difficult when your flagship product has been the Big Mac for decades… You don’t just knock that off its throne. But you’ll never manage it with weird burgers like this either.

A little introduction first: because in principle, I do understand the idea behind it. Well, maybe a little. Because sweet and savory—which is what this burger is—can work out well. Look at chocolate with salted caramel. A huge hit. Bacon jam, TOP. Fruit in salads, all fine (well, apart from FavorFlav’s Emma..). But this… No.

Lunchmeat Burger

The name of the weirdest burger ever to appear on the Maccie menu is the Lunchmeat Burger. And it consists of an incredibly salty pork burger topped with a sweet crumble made from Oreo cookies. Uh… What? Hello, McDonald’s?! What on earth were you thinking?!

Thank goodness we never have to be confronted with this monstrosity, because it can only be found in China. And hopefully not for long. I wonder whether anyone has already given this burger a passing grade… It will probably become popular, because they plan to sell ‘only’ 400,000 of them, turning it into some kind of exclusive ‘members only’ deal. And as soon as something is exclusive, everyone wants it, of course.

SPAM

In case you’re wondering why I emphasized that the meat itself is super salty; it’s made from ‘Spam’, in other words canned cooked pork with lots of salt. It doesn’t look like meat at all and for some reason they also made the burger itself SQUARE?! Just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse… Well, look and shudder.
