We already knew meat substitutes that genuinely taste like meat, but meat-a-like bloody burgers are truly something new. Even Hard Rock Café has them on the menu!

After their resounding success in the UK and Australia, among other places, the burgers and sausages from plant-based food pioneer Moving Mountains are now also available in the Netherlands. The juicy bloody burgers are one of the best-selling vegan burgers in the UK, and together with the perfectly seasoned sausages, they are now on the shelves at Jumbo.

Love at first bite

What makes these vegan products so exceptionally good? It’s the ‘bloody’ effect from the very first bite, the ‘just like real meat’ taste and the plant-based skin around the sausage, which is indistinguishable from the real thing. Even the biggest meat eaters and most critical vegetarians can no longer ignore this surprising alternative.

Greasy and healthy

The Moving Mountains Burger weighs 113.5 grams and contains no cholesterol, but does contain 20 grams of plant-based protein, and is free from antibiotics and hormones. It is an excellent substitute for real animal meat – thanks to the beetroot juice, the burger looks just like the real thing. Oyster mushrooms form the base, providing a juicy and meaty texture. Wheat and soy proteins give it a fibrous texture resembling the authentic bite of a traditional burger. Peas provide an additional source of protein, while coconut oil delivers the right greasy consistency. Vitamin B12 has been added so that the burger also contains the right essential nutrients.
