After four successful editions of the Gin Festival Amsterdam, founder Albert van Beeck Calkoen felt it was time for the next step. Because although gin is still immensely popular, new drink trends are emerging. And you can taste them all at DRINKS AMSTERDAM. Albert, enthusiastically: “You’ll be hugely surprised here and leave feeling inspired and satisfied.” Now that sounds like music to our ears!

Workshops and seminars

Of course, you can do more than just taste at the stands; there will also be various tastings, seminars and masterclasses. The stories behind the different bottles come to life, turning what you taste into a clear story. Fever-Tree’s successful Gin School will also be available to book again, but now as the ‘Mixing School’. Want to watch passionate master distillers at work? Always wanted to learn how to shake better cocktails? A battalion of professional bartenders is ready to provide you with tips & tricks.

Rum on the rise

Perhaps you’ve already noticed: following gin (and genever), rum is slowly but surely taking over the world. Albert: “I’ve been predicting for some time that rum will become the next major drink trend of the coming decade. This giant has spent too long in the shadows, and we’re going to change that.” During DRINKS AMSTERDAM, a special space will be dedicated to rum, where you can learn all about rum and choose from a huge selection of rums to taste.
