New: fingerlickin’ vegan burger

They weren’t exactly quick off the mark, but KFC has come around: they too are adding a vegan option to their menu. A vegan chicken burger, aptly named The Imposter Burger.

The rumors had been circulating for a while, and now it’s finally happening. After the vegan HEMA smoked sausage, vegan McNuggets and the McVegan, KFC obviously couldn’t be left behind when it comes to vegan options. Until recently, if you walked into KFC as a vegan or vegetarian, you didn’t have to spend long looking at the menu. Not much choice. And yes, corn and fries every time gets boringgg too…
The burger
The Imposter, then. The burger looks suspiciously similar to the Zinger Burger, but without any animal products. You can get it as a traditional burger, with a bun, iceberg lettuce and a creamy vegan mayo (!), or as a wrap or salad. KFC also says that all eleven of Colonel Sanders’ original recipe herbs and spices can be found in the vegan burger.
Where?
For now, The Imposter Burger is only available at various locations in the United Kingdom. It’s a test, and it will last four weeks. Let’s hope the Brits embrace vega(n) food en masse; then the Imposter might just become a permanent fixture on the menu and perhaps even make its way to the Netherlands.
