Thirsty tales

No, not even a splash in the tea anymore

Queen E’s pina colada

Not to call our workplace a den of iniquity, and we often dutifully go straight home after shutting our laptops, but the fact remains that bottles of one thing or another are regularly opened here.

Glug glug glug

For “tasting”, you know?! We’ve devoted this entire section to drinks and drinking, and of course we need to appear at least somewhat knowledgeable.

At the end of the day on Friday, we also enjoy having a little drink, sometimes with some good bread and butter, then again with outrageously good olives, and also simply a tasty bag of Pom-Bärs now and then. A bottle of wine, bubbles, a good port, and a Seedlip & tonic for those driving. Friday drinks!

Cheers, old chap

No, spare a thought for those poor souls who work at Buckingham Palace… British broadcaster Channel 5 is soon coming out with the documentary series Secrets of the Royal Palaces, which reveals that there used to be a proper bar inside the palace where staff could enjoy, for example, a pint of lager, a Pimm’s Cup, or a lovely G&T.

Too bad

So it had to close. Why? Because everyone was constantly getting TOO drunk! Ha! We think that’s absolutely hilarious. There you are, in the most refined surroundings in the world, unable to restrain yourself and probably literally hanging from the chandelier by the end of the evening. Okay, they probably weren’t quite the same scenes as the ones we occasionally witness with English people on De Wallen, but still.

Well, with that news, we’d like to wish you a pleasant and safe Friday afternoon drink in advance. If you behave yourself, there’s a better chance it will be allowed to continue! Have a good weekend…
