No winter sports, but après-ski: Amsterdam gets a winter sports bar

The news has well and truly reached everyone by now: no winter sports this year, no shots of Flügel in the après-ski bar with that handsome ski instructor. Tears dried, I do have a small ray of light for die-hard après-ski lovers. Today, our country’s new and only winter sports bar, Heidi’s in Amsterdam, is opening. Here you can enjoy a pint of wheat beer, crêpes und strudel. And those shots of Flügel, of course!

So pull yourself away from that home office and soak up some winter sports nostalgia. The homemade and freshly made crêpes alone are a good reason to visit Heidi’s. You know, those famous pancakes. The signature dish? Crêpes with salted butter, caramel and (organic) cookie crumble from Farm Brothers. Naturally, you can also come for your trusted chocolate crêpes—with Tony Chocolonely sauce! Are you wearing your tacky winter sports outfit? Then your crêpes are free. Bringing your skis? Free Flügel!
So get those skis strapped on
Heidi’s Wintersportbar is open every week from Wednesday to Sunday, from 12:00 to 20:00. So ski quickly to the Alps, er, the Amstel. Heidi’s is located at the Berlagebrug.
Skied out but still far from satisfied? Then make Austrian Kaiserschmarrn (or Kaiserschmarren) at home; a wonderful dish for breakfast, lunch or dessert.
