Now available at Lidl: a crepe maker (with a discount)

Paper-thin, large pancakes: delicious. But I hardly ever make them myself. The reason is very simple: I often find it too much work. The first one inevitably fails (because that’s the golden rule when it comes to pancakes), and I simply don’t enjoy making them either. Someone gave me a tip: a crepe maker is the perfect solution.

Easy and very satisfying

This crepe maker from Lidl comes with accessories for making paper-thin pancakes and crêpes, and I immediately get excited about it. I find it so satisfying to do: spreading the batter onto it with a spoon and then evenly distributing everything with that little roller. I always see them doing this very deftly at the Albert Cuyp Market, and now I simply do the same at home—suddenly, making pancakes is fun after all.

The fact that this crepe maker (or “crepe maker,” as they call it themselves) is now also available with a 14 percent discount really tops it all off; it now costs just €29.99 instead of €34.99. It also has a non-stick coating and is electric, making it extra easy to use. The latter may sound obvious, but I once bought a poffertjes pan without paying attention, and you had to use it on the stovetop—it was all very inconvenient, and I never managed to bake a single edible poffertje in it.

No, this is a better (and, incidentally, cheaper) idea. And now, of course, I immediately feel like having a pancake with cheese and syrup *hobbles to the kitchen*
