Oh no: according to new research, McDonald’s uses meat that’s bad for our health

Oh nooo, Maccie — this is all going very wrong. You often promote using 100% beef for your burgers, and you probably do, but according to new research by The Guardian, your suppliers aren’t exactly the best. The same goes for Taco Bell and Wendy’s; all three of these fast-food chains source their meat from farms that still use dangerous antibiotics on their livestock.

These antibiotics are considered HP-CIAs when it comes to our health, or ‘highest priority critically important’. Bad news, to put it mildly.
Taco Bell and Wendy’s have promised to improve
They have both indicated that they want to reduce this dangerous meat by 25 percent — Taco Bell wants to have achieved this by 2025, and Wendy’s by 2030. And Maccie? It’s still lagging behind, unfortunately. They had published a very extensive plan… But they failed to meet their targets, so they had to revise those plans; you can read them here.
Look, we all know that fast-food chains like McDonald’s aren’t exactly great for your health. But I would still prefer my Big Mac without all kinds of strange antibiotic additives that could potentially be very dangerous to my health. Such a shame.
