OH YES: restaurants will probably open as early as Saturday, June 5 (earlier than intended!)

FavorFlav’s Adeline already vented her frustrations in her weekly column Eddie’s dining annoyances: diagonal rain and force 10 winds on the terrace, and then not being able to go inside. From next weekend, that will be a thing of the past—at least the not being able to go inside part. I wouldn’t dare make any statements about the unpredictable weather. But if things go our way, restaurants will open on Saturday, June 5—four days earlier than intended.

The cabinet is considering bringing the various relaxations into effect not on Wednesday, June 9, but as early as Saturday, June 5, insiders told ANP after the Catshuis consultations on Saturday, May 22. This would mean that restaurants could open four days earlier. YES!
Serving alcohol, yes or no?
If the relaxations go ahead, this also means that restaurants may serve alcohol; reports claiming otherwise are incorrect. It is striking that although restaurants may open, pubs will most likely remain closed, reports Misset Horeca, a platform for the hospitality industry.
Realistic scenario
Whether the acceleration will happen depends on further positive figures regarding, among other things, infections and hospital admissions. Infection figures have been falling for some time already, so the expectation that restaurants may open earlier is highly realistic. So quickly make a dinner date at your favorite restaurant!
