People are not happy with the new Viennetta Salted Caramel
New isn’t always better, because sometimes people simply want everything to stay the same. And with Viennetta, that is definitely the case. Ola came up with a new variety, Viennetta Salted Caramel, and it didn’t exactly go down well. To be honest, I don’t understand why, because this simply sounds absolutely delicious — but people are massively complaining about it on social media.
According to The Best Social Media, many people were hugely disappointed during Christmas dinner because it wasn’t the classic Viennetta that appeared on the table, but this new variety. What do people find so bad about this new Viennetta?
‘There is no biscuit in the new Viennetta anymore’
Okay, that is shocking — I get that too. Anna shares the disappointment that spread around her table when they discovered that there was no (I repeat: no) biscuit left in this new Salted Caramel Viennetta. Un-be-liev-able. I don’t understand why the makers thought that would be a good idea. You want that biscuit layer, right? A little crunch? I completely understand this disappointment.

Before you think you’re going crazy: no, the classic version indeed doesn’t contain a biscuit. But the Caramel Biscuit did, and that one may even have been tastier than the regular Viennetta. But, you guessed it… It has been discontinued. I’m curious how many tears have been shed over this, but judging by the TikTok comments, there were quite a few.
Tip: This Speculoos log from Albert Heijn is a great replacement for Viennetta, because it is actually delicious!
