Rapper Post Malone launches a Provence rosé

Your own rosé—who doesn’t dream of it? Post Malone has made it happen. After celebrities such as Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Jon Bon Jovi and John Malkovich, the rapper now has his own rosé too.

And of course, a bit of a celebrity doesn’t make rosé just anywhere, but in the mecca of rosé wine: Provence. Post Malone had been making plans in that direction for a while. “Rosé is for when you want to get a little fancy,” he said. “It’s a nice switch up and I have been thinking about doing my own wine for a while.”
Favorite tarot card serves as symbol
It is a joint project by Malone, his good friend James Morrissey and his manager Dre London. The name of the wine, Maison No. 9, was inspired by Malone’s favorite tarot card, Nine of Swords, which symbolizes overcoming challenges. The beautiful light-pink wine was made with the help of winemaker Alexis Cornu, whom Malone regularly visited in France last year, and consists of 45% grenache, 25% cinsault, 15% syrah and 15% merlot.
They didn’t find the ultimate blend on their first try, by the way, but the fiftieth blend proved to be a bull’s-eye: a light, approachable rosé was born. What can you expect in terms of flavor? “Notes of ripe pineapple, pear and strawberry and a dry, crisp, crunchy finish,” Malone promises.
A bottle like a castle tower
Like the rapper himself, the wine also has a striking appearance: it comes in a tall bottle with an elongated neck and a glass stopper shaped like a castle tower—inspired by the medieval castle near the French vineyard. Maison No. 9 will be available online and in stores in the United States from next month in three sizes: 75 cl, one and a half liters and 3 liters, costing $ 21,99, $ 44,99 and $ 89,99, respectively.
