Recipe: cherry-speculoos milkshake

Do vegans only eat raw carrots and oatmeal? Fortunately not. This cherry-speculoos milkshake is completely vegan, for example, but above all: SUPER delicious.

Some products are vegan, even though you would never expect them to be. Take fries, for example: if they are fried in vegetable oil, as they usually are, they are completely vegan. Ketchup with them? Because that’s deliciously vegan too! We previously wrote about a vegan lemon cake, which is so delicious you can hardly believe your taste buds.
Completely plant-based
The blog ‘A look inside the vegan kitchen’ makes us much wiser about vegan food. This handy kitchen princess even makes delicious egg cakes without eggs, and a moussaka without cream sauce, but with lentils and cashew béchamel. But her milkshake with cherries stole the show. A large glass of frothy cherry milkshake, with a secret ingredient: speculoos. Yes, those delicious cinnamon-like cookies turn out to be completely plant-based too.
How to make the cherry-speculoos milkshake
- Blend the cherries, yogurt, milk and the paste until thick and smooth. Add a little extra milk if the milkshake becomes too thick.
- Melt the extra speculoos paste in the microwave or a small saucepan. This makes the paste less sticky and more liquid, so you can decorate with it more easily.
- Pour the milkshake into a tall glass and pipe a swirl of whipped cream on top. Decorate it with the melted paste and, if desired, some crumbs or whole speculoos cookies.
