Recipe: Chocolate Chip Cookies from the Airfryer ?

airfryer cookies

Put a box of chocolate chip cookies in the office kitchen and they’ll be gone within an hour. Guaranteed. Crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside, they’re—in my opinion—the most delicious. And that just happens to be exactly how they come out of the Airfryer.

Yes, you read that right: chocolate chip cookies from the Airfryer. Brownies, breakfast, pizza… what can’t that thing do?!

The fan’s high speed and the concentrated heat make the cookies crispy on the outside and wonderfully soft on the inside—in other words: perfect. Another bonus: because of the size of the Airfryer—or actually, I should say: because of how small it is—the washing-up is minimal. Not unimportant, because that means you can get started on the most important part of this process extra quickly: eating.

Tip: if you make the dough in advance and keep it in your freezer, you’ll have fresh cookies every day within 5 minutes. HELLO! Who wouldn’t want that?!

How to make chocolate chip cookies in the Airfryer:

  1. Preheat the Airfryer to 180 degrees.
  2. Put the unsalted butter in a bowl and soften it with a mixer or food processor.
  3. Add the granulated sugar and brown sugar and beat on medium speed until well mixed and light and fluffy, about 3 to 4 minutes.
  4. Add the tablespoon of vanilla extract, the eggs and kosher salt and beat until just mixed. Add the baking soda and flour and mix until just combined.
  5. Add the chocolate chips and chopped walnuts and stir with a spatula until just combined.
  6. Place baking paper in the Airfryer, making sure there is room on all sides for the air to circulate. Use 2 tablespoons to form balls of dough and place them on the paper, leaving enough space between them, about 2.5 cm.
  7. Flatten the dough slightly with a spoon and optionally sprinkle with some sea salt.
  8. Bake until golden brown, about 5 minutes.
  9. Remove the racks from the Airfryer and let the cookies cool for 3 to 5 minutes. Repeat steps 6 to 8 with the remaining dough. Serve warm and dig in!

Tip: I can’t imagine it, but if you happen to have any cookies left over, it’s best to store them in a Tupperware container at room temperature, for up to 3 days.
