Possibly the tastiest side dish ever: perfect, crispy, homemade oven fries. Once you’ve mastered this recipe, you’ll never toss a bag of frozen fries straight into your fryer again. Bet?
How to make the oven fries
- Preheat the oven to 200 °C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Wash and peel the potatoes. Then pat them thoroughly dry with paper towels.
- Cut the potatoes into fries by first slicing the potatoes and then cutting them into fries about one centimetre wide. Pat them thoroughly dry again.
- Put the fries in a bowl and drizzle with a splash of oil and a generous pinch of salt.
- Place the fries on the baking sheet. Spread the fries out well across the baking sheet; they must not touch one another.
- Put the baking sheet in the oven and bake the fries until crispy, for about 30 minutes. Turn the fries halfway through.
