Restaurant guide Lekker500 2022: you’ll find the best restaurants in the province

Restaurantsgids Lekker 2022

Last year, Restaurant guide Lekker 2021 was published without a ranking of the top 100 best restaurants in the Netherlands. The restaurant guide Lekker500 has just been released, once again featuring a traditional ranking. With Jonnie Boer, the Zwolle-based superchef of restaurant De Librije, who recently launched his own spirits line, as the undisputed number 1.

Lekker500 has picked up where it left off, once again sending its reporters and inspectors through the expanding Dutch culinary landscape, from bistros to Michelin-starred establishments. As always, this resulted in an overall score of 500 good to very good addresses, including 32 newcomers.

Musical chairs in the top 3

In 2019, Restaurant Inter Scaldes in Kruiningen, Zeeland, was number one in the Top 100 of restaurant guide Lekker500. De Librije took second place that year, while Tribeca in Heeze, Brabant, came third. Those looking at this year’s ranking will see that not much has changed. This year, De Librije is followed by Jan Sobecki of Tribeca, followed by… Inter Scaldes.

Numbers 4 to 10

What is striking is this year’s fourth place. It goes to restaurant Brut 172 by Hans van Wolde in Reijmerstok, Limburg. Also relatively new to the list are Amsterdam’s Restaurant 212 by Richard van Oostenbrugge and Thomas Groot, who once cooked together at Bord’eau in Hotel de l’Europe (in 7th place), and Fred Mustert of restaurant Fred in Rotterdam (in 10th place).

That means a few steps down for Soenil Bahadoer of De Lindehof in Nuenen (to 6th place) and, due to major renovations planned for the near future, Onno Kokmeijer and Arjan Speelman of Amsterdam restaurant Ciel Bleu (to 9th place). There were also small increases for Syrco Bakker of Pure C in Cadzand (to 5th place) and Sidney Schutte of restaurant Spectrum in Amsterdam’s Waldorf Astoria Hotel (to 8th place).
