Ron Gastrobar organizes the Cheese Soufflé Festival

kaassoufflefeest 2024

Valentine’s Day is ultimately a bit of overblown commercial nonsense, right? You’d be better off simply going to the Cheese Soufflé Festival in Utrecht on February 14, organized by Ron Gastrobar and brewery De Eeuwige Jeugd. You can even bring your date along! Win-win, if you ask me. But if you’d still rather do something very romantic on the 14th, no worries: this Cheese Soufflé Festival starts on the 13th.

So, for two days there will be a huge (cheese soufflé) party at the Winkel van Sinkel in Utrecht — ticket sales start on January 11 at 12:00, via this link.

The second edition, now in Utrecht

Maybe you already knew about the Cheese Soufflé Festival, because it was also organized last year — but in Amsterdam. But if you’re not familiar with the concept yet, let me explain it: on the 13th and 14th, Ron Gastrobar, in collaboration with De Eeuwige Jeugd, is organizing a four-course dinner in which every course consists of a cheese soufflé. And I probably don’t need to tell you that this isn’t your standard little soufflé from the snack wall. No, this year’s soufflés on the menu are:

  • Goat cheese za’atar soufflé (with Tel Aviv chopped salad, tahini and salted lemon)
  • Burrata cheese soufflé (with arugula, cherry tomatoes, Parmesan and balsamic)
  • Blue cheese soufflé (with mustard greens, walnuts and pearl onions)
  • Truffle cheese soufflé (with roasted cauliflower and blood sausage)

Sorry, but doesn’t this sound absolutely insanely delicious? The dinners will take place from 18:30 to 22:00 on both days.
