Ter Marsch & Co strikes gold again at the 2024 Dutch Tastiest Burger Championship

Love hamburgers? Then you surely know burger bar Ter Marsch & Co, because their burgers have been winning prizes regularly since the opening in 2014. And now again. Andy Hoogvliets of Ter Marsch & Co Rotterdam won gold at the 2024 Dutch Tastiest Burger Championship.

Dutch Tastiest Burger Championship
Alongside the 2024 Dutch Tastiest Sandwich Championship, the Dutch Tastiest Burger Championship took place at Horecava, the Netherlands’ largest hospitality trade fair. Andy from Ter Marsch & Co presented his La Fiesta de Carne, a burger featuring Spanish Black Angus from Miquel Vergara, 24-month-aged Gran Reserva Serrano ham, Piment d’Espelette ketchup, Manchego cheese custard, Andalusian cream and a fennel salad, among other ingredients. Seriously: don’t you just want to sink your teeth into this right away? The jury was full of praise for the flavour of the meat and the excellent choice of ingredients.

Second place
Danielle Touwslager of Dammers Tap Schiphol (HMSHost) came second at the 2024 Dutch Tastiest Burger Championship. She made the Italian Connection, a burger featuring grilled Pecorino, Amsterdam onion relish and roasted bell pepper, among other ingredients. “The burger itself was very tasty and super-soft, perfectly ground,” the jury said.
Third place
Bronze went to Ferliyan Palimbong. Hey, we’ve heard that name before! The owner of Toko Podomoro in Bunschoten-Spakenburg took first place last year with his Indonesian Bali Burger – made with a spicy Balinese stew, crispy bacon, tomato and Cheddar – at the Dutch Tastiest Burger Championship. In 2018, Ferliyan had already won first place with his Asian Burger. This year, he once again won a prize. His Asian Party Burger was built on a brioche bun with Cheddar, crispy bacon, spareribs with hoisin and sriracha, fresh shallot, lemongrass and kimchi, among other ingredients. “Lots of surprising flavours,” the jury said. Every bite is pure enjoyment!
