Skittles launches striking new flavor

Taste the rainbow has been their slogan for years, but now it’s more like taste the condiment. Because Skittles is launching a very special limited-edition flavor. In itself, it’s perfect for this weekend’s drinks, because I suspect these Skittles would taste best with a serving of bitterballen. Sounds weird, right? It is, but maybe a little less so when I tell you that their new flavor is mustard.

Good-grief. That was my first thought, at least. Who on earth would want to eat this?
National Mustard Day
Luckily, we won’t be confronted with it, because this flavor is only available in America — it was launched there in honor of National Mustard Day. The mustard in question is French’s mustard, which I personally have never heard of. Secretly, I am a little curious, but the chances of getting your hands on these are very slim. Maybe that’s what will make them such a sought-after collectible?
Because you can only get them on July 31, August 2, and August 5 in three American cities. Skittles will be there with their Mustard Mobile to hand them out. If you happen to be nearby (you never know), they will be in Washington and Atlanta, at least. Let me know whether they’re even remotely palatable.
