Snackspert: “My hormones went wild when I took this Big Mie toast from PAINDEMIE out of the packaging”

Eke Bosman, better known as Instagram phenomenon @snackspert, ate his first frikandel as a baby, hates vlammetjes, has devoured at least 1,000 burgers in his life, suspects there’s more mayonnaise in his body than blood, and shares his snack reviews every other week on FavorFlav. And my goodness, what a good week this was—apart from the bitterballen roulette, that is. OUCH.

Sweet potato fries for the oven/Airfryer (Albert Heijn)

I’m just going to admit it honestly: I’m a real loser when it comes to making sweet potato fries. You absolutely can’t trust me with them, just as little as you can trust the average Temptation Island contestant. And in that respect, I’m about as reliable as Gordon’s promise never to sing again. Every time I make my own sweet potato fries (so, cutting them myself, etc.) and deep-fry them, air-fry them, or put them in the oven, they fail. Sometimes too hard, sometimes too soft, and sometimes too black. Even the fresh, pre-cut fries from the supermarket fail. My goodness. That’s why I was really happy to see that Albert Heijn now also has frozen sweet potato fries, specially for the oven and Airfryer. And good lord, they come out delicious from the Airfryer! Nice and crispy, with the sweet flavor still perfectly intact—just really good. They’re not quite as crispy as the tastiest sweet potato fries I ate in London years ago, but this is definitely a start. Really nice, I’m relieved. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Big Mie toast from PAINDEMIE

Sometimes, when you see something delicious, your hormones go so wild that you don’t even realize you’re drooling from both corners of your mouth—in that way, you do know that you’re standing straight rather than crooked, but that’s a completely pointless fact for now. My hormones went wild when I took this Big Mie toast from PAINDEMIE in Amsterdam (run by the heroes behind, among others, @restaurantbreda and @marispiperbrasserie) out of the packaging. What food porn! And it tasted insanely good, because it was finally something new for me to try. This sandwich consists of two (!) goat burgers topped with melted goat cheese, pickle, iceberg lettuce, and a Big Mie sauce (you can make the comparison yourself). Awesome, because goat meat is genuinely delicious. Tender and slightly creamy, a little sweet. Wonderful. You really should try it yourself, but perhaps you’re already convinced by the number of stars I’m giving it: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
