Special: this new frozen cocktail with pickle juice and vodka
I haven’t quite figured out yet whether this is an early April Fool’s joke or whether it’s real, but I’m very intrigued. Because, to be honest, I’d actually quite like to try this, partly because I really enjoy the other ice lollies – sorry: ‘Frozen cocktails’ – from 24ICE. You may know them: the Mojito, Pornstar Martini, Boswandeling and Flügel. But this new frozen cocktail is in a different category…
Their newest flavour for summer 2024 will be… vodka with pickle juice. They announced this on Instagram, and the reactions have been surprisingly positive.
What will the ice lolly be called?
The only thing is: they don’t have a name for their new creation yet, so they’re asking their followers to drop some suggestions in the comments. ‘Pickled vodka ice’ is one suggestion, for example – which I think is a strong contender (although I like ‘Pickle Me’ even more)… But the name actually matters less to me; I just want to know what it tastes like.
Because however unappealing pickle juice (with vodka as well) may sound, I’m still very curious. I wouldn’t be surprised if it turns out to be really delicious. The sourness of the pickle, the freshness of the ice lolly, plus 5 per cent vodka (all their frozen cocktails contain 5 per cent) – it could very well be that I’ll simply stock up on these.
I’m very curious whether you feel this curiosity too. If you’re still hesitant: a Pickle Martini is seriously delicious.
