Stach and Fish Tales launch pop-up Fruits de Mer Bar

Throughout December, the STACH shop on Overtoom will be transformed into a pop-up Fruits de Mer Bar. Crackling-fresh fish, shellfish and crustaceans presented on crushed ice. A paradise for every seafood lover.

You probably know STACH from its neighbourhood shops-cum-mini supermarkets, with an irresistibly delicious range of food and drink. Not only in Amsterdam, but also in Utrecht, Haarlem and Overveen. And Fish Tales is all about fish with a good story: sustainable fish sourced directly from small local fishing communities around the world.
Stach Schaberg (founder of STACH) and seafood chef Bart van Olphen (co-founder of Fish Tales) are both passionate lovers of great food and have now joined forces. Inspired by their favourite restaurants, such as Balthazar in New York and La Coupole in Paris, the two came up with the idea for a pop-up Fruits de Mer Bar.

Mussels to go
The STACH shop on Overtoom will be transformed into a pop-up Fruits de Mer Bar for the entire month of December (from Thursday to Saturday). The seafood range is impressive: from a container of freshly prepared mussels to go to a complete Fruits de Mer platter for home. Think Zeeland oysters, mussels, cockles, whelks, razor clams, unpeeled Dutch shrimp and – of course – lobster. All the fish for the Fruits de Mer is caught the same day in, among other places, Zeeland’s waters and the North Sea. Another bonus: all Fruits de Mer products are pre-cooked or steamed (with the exception of the oysters) and therefore ready to eat. Easy!
Menu
The enthusiast will also find everything needed for an authentic seafood extravaganza: homemade sauces and mayonnaises, vinaigrettes, fresh baguettes, bisque d’homard, blinis with caviar and smoked wild Sockeye salmon, accompanied by the most delicious wines and bubbles. Tools such as oyster knives, lobster tongs and crushed ice are also available to buy at the pop-up.

The Fruits de Mer menus are available in different varieties (classic, royal and lobster menu, from €65, for two people). And of course, you can also put together your own platter with your favourite seafood.

Practical information
The Fruits de Mer can be taken away on the spot. Orders can be placed via STACH online for collection in the shop at a time that suits you. Prefer home delivery? The entire range can be ordered via Deliveroo for delivery in Amsterdam. Don’t live in or near Amsterdam? You can also order the Fruits de Mer via the Fish Tales webshop for delivery throughout the country.
