Stupid food rules you had to follow as a child

Those spoiled kids today, eating sushi with an iPad in front of their faces, would be shocked to hear what kind of dictatorial regime their parents grew up in. Eating as many Brussels sprouts as you were old and then pouring yogurt over them. Yes… these are just a few of the stupid food rules you had to follow as a child. The fact that we’re still alive!

First a savory sandwich and then a sweet one, and only getting dessert once your plate was empty; how many food rules from this list can you check off?
Empty plate
I wasn’t allowed to leave the table until my plate was empty. So sometimes I sat there alone at the table for hours.. because I wasn’t hungry anymore or it didn’t taste good.. – Denise Groeneweg
Chips
By the cat
Yogurt afterward
Yogurt in it
If you hadn’t finished your plate when dessert came to the table, the yogurt/custard/pudding went onto your plate over the food, and then you had to eat it. We got dessert on the plate anyway, never in separate bowls/dishes. – Els Kobes
Healthy
Drink the cooking water from the endive; according to my mother, it contained lots of iron and vitamins. Grrrrr. – Marian de Vos-Weber
Sandwich filling punishment
Brussels sprouts according to your age
Weekend treat
Biscuits during the week and one stroopwafel on Sunday (and I didn’t even like it). – Marin van de Velde
Savory, sweet
We first had to eat a sandwich with cheese or sausage, and then we were allowed a sandwich with a sweet topping. Brown bread every day, and on Sundays we were allowed white bread – Karlijn Derksen
