Thank God for online shopping, because I’ve always hated doing the real thing. Especially during the holidays. And of course, it’s absolute horror now, because there’s often already a queue at every supermarket — and the Christmas shopping still needs to be done. And now the chances of being able to go to our favorite restaurant for Christmas are getting smaller and smaller, and more and more hospitality entrepreneurs are choosing to close their businesses for Christmas, there’s nothing left to do but get to work in the kitchen ourselves — including doing the shopping.

Had you briefly forgotten what a living hell doing the Christmas shopping is… Read these tweets by Dylan Morrison. He wanted to encourage people to stay home and therefore shared his horror stories; he worked in a luxurious supermarket and, if his stories are true, it really is hell on earth. Read and shudder.

Let’s just hope that there will soon be plenty of delicious Christmas delivery menus from chefs available to buy, so we can spread our misery around a little. Either way: consider yourself warned!
